A new railcard offering half-price rail fares for anyone aged between 16 and 17 years old, will go on sale today, 20th August 2019.
The railcard is aimed at passengers who travel to school or college by train.
The Department for Transport has detailed that the 16-17 Saver will cost £30 per year.
The railcard can be used on standard class journeys which begin in England and Wales, and is valid for season tickets.
The 16-17 Saver will go on sale today, 20th August at 9.00am. It can be purchased on the special 16-17 Saver website, 16-17saver.co.uk.
It will be valid for tickets from 2nd September 2019, and will be available as either a card or in a digital, app-based format.
To apply, you will need your ID and a photo. You will then need to bring the card with you whenever you travel by train.
