Nationwide Simply Rewards to close


The scheme which offers Nationwide debit and credit card holders cashback rewards when they use their card at selected retailers, is to close on Monday 1st April. Customers already signed up to the Simply Rewards scheme can continue to collect cashback until then, however, registration is closed to new members (and has been since earlier this month). Cashback built up before Monday 1st April will still be available to spend after the scheme closes.

What is the Simply Rewards scheme?

The Simply Rewards scheme was originally launched in 2011, and revamped 4 years later. It offers registered Nationwide Visa credit or debit card holders cashback rewards when they use their cards at selected bars, restaurants, shops and websites. When Nationwide customers used their card at these selected retailers, cashback was automatically transfer into their account within five working days.

What does Nationwide say?

A Nationwide spokesperson said: "A review of the scheme concluded that considering the ongoing investment of time and resource required it was not sufficiently meeting the wider needs of all our members."
